Describe Yourself:
I'm a clinical psychologist in Lafayette, California and author of Body Intelligence: Lose Weight, Keep It Off, and Feel Great About Your Body Without Dieting! (McGraw-Hill) and several other books dealing with eating and weight problems. Since I'm relatively slender I'm frequently asked if I was ever fat. Although I never was morbidly obese, as a child I wore "husky" clothes, and was an overweight couch potato until I hit 40. Now I work out regularly at a local gym and keep my weight under control despite my love of pizza and frozen yogurt.
In addition to helping people with eating problems, I like to work with adults who have anxiety and panic disorders, sexual difficulties, and marital conflicts. When I'm not seeing clients, I'm frequently sitting at my computer writing, checking emails, or reading the New York Times online.
